Davis County Fair
I've been getting complaints about not blogging lately. So sorry, dear readers. I do have pictures of the fair we went to recently. Besides that, there isn't a lot to tell. I would love to sit here and relay lots of cute stories about Spencer in school, but since I hear virtually nothing about school (and most of what I do hear is made up), that's hard to do.
This, obviously, has nothing to do with the fair. One night Spencer thought it would be hilarious to put his socks on his ears. Because he did it, of course Carson had to follow suit. This is definitely one to show the girlfriends in the future!
Here is our clown friend, who made the boys balloon fishing poles. He was making clown humor, and Spencer loved it. Stuff like "Let's get a yellow one," while he pulled out some other color. Spencer would shout, "That's not yellow! That's pink!" To which the clown replied, "It doesn't stink!" So so funny.
The boys were allowed two rides, so Spencer voted for the airplanes. It's one of those that uses centrifugal force, so the faster it goes, the higher the "plane" flies. Carson thought it was fun at first, but as it went faster we could see he was putting his head down and just trying to "center" himself and endure the rest of the ride. We really hoped he wouldn't throw up, and he didn't. Spencer thought it was a blast.
The kiddie train was more Carson's style--slow and steady!
It was hard to snap the picture at just the right moment. I got a couple of the empty seat between them!
Of course we had to have pony rides. Spencer's an old pro.
Carson's getting the hang of it. At least he didn't have to wear a helmet this time, so he could see what was happening!

After the pony ride we went to visit the chickens and rabbits. Spencer loved hearing the roosters crow. Andy wanted to bring home a bunny with floppy ears. They were pretty cute, but they don't use a litter box! Our main purpose in attending the fair was to see the alligator show. They had a real, adult alligator as well as a baby one. I tried to plan ahead so we'd be sure to get a good seat. We arrived in plenty of time and ate our dinner while watching the yo-yo man perform. He finished his act and we sat around waiting for the alligator show. Long story short, we were at the wrong stage! When we finally figured it out, the place was packed and Andy had to stand in the back with Spencer up on his shoulders so he could see. We missed the first half of the show, but Spencer seemed satisfied with what he saw. I felt so stupid!!

I like Carson's idea of a ride. "slow and steady"
Great Grandpa Redden
the idea that some of the school stories are made up is hysterical. I'd love to hear about them sometime!
Your pony close-ups are great.
