Spencer always keeps us laughing. Today he and Carson were playing downstairs when Spencer started yelling, "MOM!! Carson has a runny nose!" Then, in a muffled voice (as if he was covering his face with his hands in utter disgust), "And he has a GOOBER coming out!!" Poor Spencer has never had a strong stomach. He was so relieved when Carson stopped spitting up, but each stage brings something else that grosses him out.
Yesterday was a stressful day. I was trying to start dinner, Carson was really whiny, and we had several appointments/obligations lined up for the evening. I felt like all afternoon I kept telling the boys "hurry this" and "hurry that." Spencer wanted to watch a show, so I told him, "Hurry and sit down then." He looked bewildered and said slowly, "Why...are we...in such...a hurry?" At that point I had to stop and laugh a little. My mom asked him what we were doing today, and he replied, "Chores, chores, chores!!" However, I think we'll be able to carve out some play time somewhere! Thank you Spencer for reminding me to take life easy!
Grandma and Grandpa S. are here for the winter to visit all the grandkids. We had a big birthday party (for Grandma) and she gave all the kids a present. Crash-up cars all around! It was wild and NOISY, but lots of fun.
Carson hasn't seen these grandparents very often since they've been living out of state, so he needs a little time to get warmed up.
Daddy is a great playground! (Mommies don't get themselves into these situations!)
Carson loves to sit on the barstools like a big guy. (Don't worry--he's strapped in.) He would much rather be up there like Spencer than have to sit in his high chair.
Spencer duded himself up like this and called himself a "knight in shining armor." That white sash around his waist is made of toilet paper. (He's so practical.)
Carson is starting to get into dress-up too. He's quite a little cook!
Here's me wearing my new outfit for church. I got my hair highlighted with red and blonde recently. Spencer stared at me for the first couple of days and then said, "Mom, next time I want RAINBOW hair!" 
Carson suddenly loves to play cowboy. He wears this big hat, holds his horse facing him, and walks very slowly around the house. Not exactly the Lone Ranger, but he's cute anyway!
Spencer made this Indian headdress at preschool just before Thanksgiving. His teacher read the story of "Stone Soup," and then they ate soup for their snack. She said most of the kids were not interested in soup, but Spencer told her she was an even better cook than Mommy, and she was the best cook in the whole world! She offered him extra cookies.
Carson has to do/be everything that Spencer does. Maybe we'll call him Little Squishy Cheeks.
Carson is especially enamored with books about trucks and construction vehicles. We read the same ones over and over and I struggle to come up with something new and interesting to say about them!
So intense that he got a little sleepy!
Carson is always good at "chilling out." He knows how to relax and watch a baby show!

They kept disagreeing (to put it nicely) on whose turn it was to sit in it, so they came up with this arrangement on their own. They both seemed to find it acceptable, so I didn't intervene. I have a feeling this sort of thing may continue in a variety of aspects.
Getting used to using crayons and a desk--fun! (Now we need to learn to write on the paper ONLY)
Slippy (the cat) is finally beginning to trust him a little bit. At night, after Carson is in bed, she sits by us while we read bedtime stories. Occasionally, she even lets Spencer pet her for a few minutes! He is very gentle and careful with her. I think she appreciates that!
